Sibuya Game Reserve and Lodge - Kenton-on-Sea

A 40 minute boat ride from Sibuya Reception in Kenton-on-Sea up the magnificent Kariega Estuary provides a unique and exhilarating access to malaria-free Sibuya Game Reserve.in breath-taking Eastern Cape valley and forest landscapes and home to the Big 5, Sibuya offers game drives, river cruises and accommodation in either of two luxury tented eco-camps or two luxury lodges.

All transfers and accommodation at Sibuya is fully inclusive of African-themed meals,local beverages, game drives, boat cruises and river activities. Each eco-tented room in Forest and River Camp has luxury bedding, an all-weather roof and a private bathroom with shower and free-standing bath. Glass doors open onto a wooden deck overlooking the Estuary or the indigenous forest.

Bush Lodge has two secluded air-conditioned luxury suites, with outside and inside shower and a private viewing deck. A modern three bedroomed cottage provides sole-use luxury, with three en-suite bathrooms and vast viewing decks, heated swimming pool and air-conditioning inrooms.

Sibuya’s latest addition is secluded Nel’s Lodge, with two luxury en-suite bathrooms and a third bedroom with private bathroom.on split-level decks, the Lodge has a spacious open-plan lounge and dining area, air-conditioning and a heated swimming pool with breath-taking views over the Reserve and Estuary as it meanders through the valley to the Indian Ocean.

Sibuya accommodation venues arefully catered with each Camp and Lodge providing its own Guides and game drive vehicles. The distant sound of the Ocean, the hoot of Owls and the mournful cries of Jackal mingle with the crackling of the fire on evenings spent around the campfire, while an awesome star-spangled sky stretches overhead.

All-inclusive activities: boat transfers, birdwatching, bush walks away from dangerous game, swimming in the salt-water Estuary or heated swimming pools at the Lodges, fishing, canoeing and picnics - for three-nights-plus stays.

Optional activities incurring an extra-charge, to be booked in advance: Horse riding on the Reserve, a specialist bird-guide, spa treatments, golf and deep-sea fishing. Free secure parking is provided at Sibuya Game Reserve and Lodge’s Reception in Kenton-on-Sea.

Pre-arranged shuttles can be requested from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) or East London (Buffalo City) Airport. Approximately 1.5 or 2.20 hours’ drive respectively to Sibuya’s Reception in Kenton on Sea.

The hotel day starts from hour 11:00 and ends at 11:00.

Tent - River Camp. Overlooking the Kariega River or forest, these luxurious tents have glass doors that open onto a wooden deck. With an all-weather roof, the tents include a rustic-style private bathroom with African-themed hand basins, free toiletries and free-standing bath. With only 4 tents, this is a more intimate part of the camp. ;
Tent - Forest Camp. Featuring a wooden deck overlooking the Kariega River or forest, these spacious, luxurious tents are surrounded by trees. With an all-weather roof, the tents include a rustic-style private bathroom with African-themed hand basins, a free-standing bath and free toiletries. Tent - Forest Camp: Distinctive wooden walkways meandering through the indigenous forest, along the banks of the Kariega Estuary, maximise the privacy of the tents. The eight luxury eco-tents are each situated on a private raised wooden deck andhave unique en-suite bathrooms with ‘wild wood’ harvested from dead indigenous trees on the Reserve. Each bathroom has a shower, free-standing bath and complimentary toiletries. King-size or twin beds are available and sleeper couches for children sharing. A TeaCoffee station is available in each tent. With an all-weather roof and a fireplace in each tent they’re cozy in winter, especially with a hot-water-bottle as an extra touch. Children over the age of twelve are welcome. ;
Suite - Bush Lodge. These well-appointed and secluded thatched units are spacious and fully en-suite with outside and inside showers and private sun viewing decks. Each room has tea-and-coffee making facilities, air-conditioning and a wood-burning fireplace. ;
Villa. This villa boasts a pool with a view and a fireplace. Featuring a private entrance, this air-conditioned villa comprises 1 living room, 3 separate bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a walk-in shower and a bath. Guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator, an oven and a microwave in the fully equipped kitchen. The villa also provides guests with a barbecue. The unit features a tea and coffee maker, garden views, a terrace and winechampagne is provided for guests. The unit offers 4 beds.
